Jackie Barrie: more than just a copywriter
As a copywriter, trainer and speaker, I specialise in making complex information appear simple (which is why I call it 'Writing Without Waffle').
I am proud that my first book, 'The Little Fish Guide to DIY Marketing', made it to number eight in its category on Amazon within two days of launch in October 2010. 'The Little Fish Guide to Networking' was released in June 2011 and reached the top 20.
I founded Comms Plus in 2001 after 20 years as a copywriter and marketer in the corporate world.
I've studied creative writing with Sue Townsend on a Greek island, and am an Ezine Articles expert author. I'm an Associate with the Professional Speaking Association and achieved Advanced Communicator (Bronze) with Toastmasters. I co-founded Bromley Creative Community, have moderated networking groups for BRX and Ecademy, and was on the original Information Design Association committee.
My Open University BA Honours degree included the psychology of how people process words and symbols. I also qualified as an NLP Practitioner (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) through INLPTA, for a deeper understanding of the power of language in written and spoken communications. I originally trained as a journalist.
